About Agassiz United Church

Located in beautiful Fraser Valley and the small rural community of Agassiz, we have a stunning view of Mount Cheam and the "Snow Angel".
The church has been in the community for over one hundred years. The church hall is the original (Presbyterian) church that was built in 1903.
Every Sunday after worship, we gather for fellowship, coffee, tea and treats in the church hall. On the first Sunday of the month, we offer wholesome sandwiches in addition to coffee, tea and treats.
What we believe
If you were to ask a few of us about our own personal spiritual beliefs, you'd find that no two people believe the exact same thing. At Agassiz United, we like to acknowledge and celebrate this diversity, while trying to meet the spiritual needs of each congregation member.
That said, there are certain beliefs that we hold in common. We belong to a church because we believe that it is a vehicle for doing good in a world that so desperately needs it. Many of us feel that Jesus set an admirable standard for peace and justice and try in our own ways to live up to that standard. We hope that you'll consider joining us at Agassiz United as we work to make the world a better place!

Who we are
Regardless of our diverse personal spiritual beliefs, we invite you to come and get to know us as real people. A church is not just a building, it is the gathering of people who call it home. As stated in our Welcome Pamphlet, we welcome all to become part of our sharing, caring and supportive community of friends.
What we do
In addition to trying to meet our own personal spiritual and emotional needs, and just having fun as a community of friends (see Photos), we work to help others in the local community and the less fortunate in the wider world in a variety of ways.
Our Outreach events include hosting free educational community awareness sessions with guest speakers, food bank donations and in cooperation with other local churches, offering free weekly meals through the Olive Branch program.
We support Agassiz-Harrison Community Services, United Church of Canada Mission and Service and First United Downtown Eastside.
See our Events page for upcoming special events such as garage sales, seasonal dinners, musical concerts, old-time dances and summer parking lot musical jams.
